Sea Turtle Nesting: What Is Known and What Are the Challenges under a Changing Climate Scenario

چکیده
The rate of climate change experienced globally in recent decades may compromise sea turtles’ survival; especially temperature increase, which is particularly fast, impacts life history characteristics, such as temperature-dependent sex determination (TSD), late maturity and turtles highly migratory nature. This review aims to identify summarize the information that has been collected from 2009-2020 order aid future empirical studies seek fill these other knowledge gaps, subsequently assist conservationists making multilevel decisions protect turtle populations species. In a summarized way general acquired so far on influence environmental abiotic biotic factors nesting behaviour hatching, emergence survival successes hatchlings, was gathered. To accomplish this work, search Web Science, Science Direct, NCBI/PubMed, Google Scholar carried out using terms “sea + change”. Published articles period were selected, related ecology 5 species turtles: Caretta caretta, Eretmochelys imbricata, Dermochelys coriacea, Chelonia mydas, Lepidochelys olivacea. Emphasis also placed geographical population location (e.g. climatic conditions during season). These (N = 126) analysed giving relevance researcher’s data interpretations, comparisons with researches, reached conclusions. An attempt made represent all when selecting each nesting: temperature, humidity, substrate, gases, depth nest, surface (SST), nest beach, phenology geographic distribution habitats. interaction between parameters their consequences terrestrial phase reproduction are presented discussed.

متن کاملP-value: What is and what is not
The misinterpretation and misuse of p-value have been increasing for decades. In March 2016, the American Statistical Association released a statement to warn about the use and interpretation of p-value. In this study, we provided a definition and discussion of p-value and emphasized the importance of its accurate interpretation.
متن کاملLong-Term Climate Forcing in Loggerhead Sea Turtle Nesting
The long-term variability of marine turtle populations remains poorly understood, limiting science and management. Here we use basin-scale climate indices and regional surface temperatures to estimate loggerhead sea turtle (Caretta caretta) nesting at a variety of spatial and temporal scales. Borrowing from fisheries research, our models investigate how oceanographic processes influence juvenil...
متن کاملWhat are Stem Cells?
Stem cells are undifferentiated self regenerating multi potential cells. There are three types of stem cells categories by the ability to form after cells and correlated with the body’s development process. Totipotent: these stem cells can form an entire organism such as fertilized egg. Ploripotent: ploripotent cells are those that can form any cell in the body but cannot form an entire organ...
متن کاملWhat is the Clinical Skills Learning Center?
With shorter periods of hospitalazation, fewer patient beds and more health care facilities in the society, patients are now more acutely ill and highly dependent, causing less opportunities for medical students to practice and learn basic clinical skills. On the other hand, enhanced patient rights and other learnig limitations require that professional education provide not only knowledge and ...
